An Education
Just finished off a great weekend with a great movie! I watched An Education, a story set in suburban London in the 1960s about a young school girl who falls in love with an older man and all the temptations and indulgences that come along with him. Carey Mulligan plays the smitten school girl set to study at Oxford with a love for the arts...she portrayed the innocence and vibrancy so well, not to mentioned her beauty is memorizing. I haven't seen such great acting and a well written storyline in a while, this movie is now one of my favorites. And, according to my friend Melissa, this is Michelle Obama's fave movie of the year...and I completely agree! I'm in love with Dominic Cooper, and obvi the lead male/love interest Peter Sarsgaard. This movie is incredible, from the acting to the wardrobe...each actor was perfect in all the details of these characters. GO WATCH IT...now! xo, B
Sneaker Lovin'
I've been debating on the color/style of my next pair of high top converse and found these bad boys on shopbop today. They are outrageously studded and priced chucks...I couldn't fathom paying $225 for a pair...since part of my love and appreciation for them, is that they only set you back about $45 for some classic kicks. These are cool...but I think I might try DIY-ing them...I'll keep you posted on how that goes. xo, B

Uncle Rocco
Just got this pic of the "Uncle Rocco" necklace from a dear friend...it is her Uncle that created this killer pendant with all the details of the lizard sort of attacking the woman, to the soldier's stern face! Apparently this brilliance came to him back in the 70s...I love vintage jewelry with a hidden past. Wonder what he was doing at the time... Loves it! xo, B

Weekend Finds
Vera Wang Lavender Rosalyn thick strap wedge sandals, $350 Intermix - perfect for the Winter-Spring transition.
Soleil paisley silk tunic, $88 from J.Crew...another great transitional piece, would be awesome with thick brown tights and boots, or massive wedge sandals in the warmer weather.

It's a Dog Kind of Day...
I found this new dog brand Romy and Jacob which has the cutest dog coats! I'm crushing on the faux fur parka for Coops, it's funny because it would just blend in with his real fur, lol! The first two pics are some cute pup pics that I've come across, they always brighten my day. xo, B
Super cute pic from Jazzi McG's blog, I wonder if that's comfortable? He seems to be chillin!
Swirled
Just doing my daily online discount shopping, and came across this picture on Swirl, Daily Candy's sample sale site. I'm totally obsessed and inspired by the creation of this casual turned chic look...the pop of color using the hot pink socks against the nude sandals is freaking sweet. They're selling the sweater by Shae, which seems like any basic sweater, but merchandised the way it is makes the perfect outfit. Loving it...and now I'm off to search for colorful socks. xo, B
UPDATE: Found some pink socks at Uniqlo! It actually came in a package of 4, with a pair of an Easter type purple, mint green and black!

Sweatim
Style and comfort go hand in hand, it's hard to have swagger if you feel uncomfortable...and these Genetic denim sweatpants are genious and chic... (would they be called sweatims?, lol)! I love the boyfriend jean, and have been a fan before the trend became popular, there is something sexy about the baggy jean with a high stiletto and tee. Can't wait to go try these bad boys on during one of my lunch outings...but they're $198! Someone please make a cheaper version so I can enjoy these at a reasonable price. Otherwise, great idea...xo, B

Ghetto Fab
Love love love anything chunky and chain-like, and that includes this awesome nautical feeling J.Crew bracelet! It's a little ghetto-fab, some part of me has a tendency to lean towards chunky chains, and if I could afford a diamond encrusted "B" medallion...you know I would be rocking it! lol I even have this "vintage-y" Banana Republic chain necklace that my B&T Russian coworker likes to call my Mister T chain...he sort of has a point, but I don't like to let him think he is right. Anywho...I do love this bracelet...chunky and preppy and ghetto fab all at once...just like me, lol, a mix of everything in one! xo, B

Surfer Girl
I will always be a bit of a surfer girl at heart...growing up on the beach, and getting to wear flip flops year-round was an unknown blessing. I miss all the surf brands and underground labels that used to surround the OC...and I was thrilled to find out that Roxy was doing a collaboration with Cynthia Rowley and stepping up their game. The beach brand is definitely geared to the teen market, but there are a bunch of "housewives" that wear Roxy on a regular basis, and some updated styles and cuts would be a good addition for those women. Well, I was excited to finally see Nylon has posted some pics of the Roxy x Cynthia Rowley collaboration. It's a far fetch from the bright neon string bikinis and loud prints Roxy is used to...I'm excited to see the full line. It comes out April 1st at Barneys and Collette...loving the neoprene dress! Also, check out Nitrolicious, she have some cool pics from the preview last week. xo, B

Hermes Amazement
Sunday night was the night I caught up on my magazines and celebrity gossip. And it wasn't til I finished perusing Harpers Bazaar for February, that I got to the back cover and noticed this amazing Hermes ad! The pops of color are ridiculous, and hello...can my hair look like that when I'm on the beach vacationing...hmm, not so much. Love it...xo, B

Stop Bitching
I've been such an emotional girl lately...after coming back from hanging with my Mom in the OC for a couple weeks, then having some shiz blow up at work, and now two of my girls moving away from NYC...it's been rough. But, yesterday morning on my way to work, I put my normal playlist on, and this Kid Cudi song was speaking to me! I definitely need to keep my hustle going, and find my happiness in this huge world. Forget moping about it, 2010 is going to be a year about change...something big has to happen. As I have said before, life seems to be passing me by, and I can't be complacent any longer. Dream BIG...xo, B
Psycho Bunny
Bloomingdales mens section had these cool scarves by Psycho Bunny that caught my eye. I love plaid cashmere scarves to begin with, but it's so cool how they have this understated bunny and crossbones sort of hidden within the plaid. Super cool, I love weird mix matched things, and uniquely understated combinations. It looks like a normal scarf until you look up close! I would totally snatch one up, but they're a bit pricey starting around $200. Super cute though...xo, B

Gangsta Party
Was so excited to see the paintings of Tupac and Biggie in the window of Opera Gallery over in Soho. For some reason, I've always had a love for hip hop, and it definitely thrived while going to University of Michigan so close to Detroit. I don't know what I was thinking back then when I would drive out to D-town and go to watch underground hip hop shows with another girlfriend of mine. I thought I was such a thug...from Newport Beach! lol But, I would totally rock these paintings in my apt if I had a choice. A part of me still thinks that Tupac and Biggie are off living up life in a deserted island laughing at all of us still purchasing their music. They both are still on regular rotation on my ipod, and they will be forever! Love love love, xo, B

Wedged Out
So this is just the beginning of my search for my Grandma's sandals...I found these Natural Comfort sandals after the blog Bleach Black posted pictures of these J.Crew sandals. These are pretty killer, and look so comfy, like walking on clouds. The search still goes on...xo, B
Sparkly Delight
More lunchtime shopping with my BFFL...we went to Anthropologie to look around at their sale stuff, where I bought two hand towels that match my set at home, and a beautiful calendar which will become my food diary (for my NY's reso "eat healthy"). As I was on my way out, this sparkly display of chunky rhinestone bracelets caught my eye...I touched them thinking I wanted one, but realized one bracelet didn't compare to the beautiful compilation of all the bracelets. Just the display was a work of art...Beautimus! xo, B

Heavenly
Totally into this art installation created by Emily Ann Nicholson...I stumbled upon these photos on Design Sponge, one of my fave DIY (Do it yourself) blogs. It's so pretty and whimsical, like a winter wonderland...would have loved to have this in my room as a child. xo, B
