Uniqlo Faux Fur Coat...Faux Sure

Lunchtime shopping was a success today! Just yesterday I was scouring ebay for reasonably priced faux furs with yummy collars. And today, during my visit to Uniqlo to check out the Velvet by Graham & Spencer collab, which was boring and overpriced, I found the most magnificent faux fur coat for only $80...what a steal. Can't wait to wear it...xo, B

Cube Couture

I needed some inspiration in my cube, so I decided to decorate. I'm loving fur (faux of course), shearling, camels and minimalism...and I just got a new fabulous faux during lunch at Uniqlo today (will post later)! I can check that off my list, can't wait to rock it...but it'll probably be a couple more months before I can even bring it out. I've gotten good at getting the early pickings on my Fall and Winter pieces...now I just have to find some nice tailored slacks and camel colored items to round out my looks. xo, B

Friday Inspiration Pic

La Garconne has done an incredible Fall ensemble lookbook. I love all 24 looks, but these are my fave! And majority of them are using pieces interchangeably that I could see myself doing, I especially am lusting after the Thakoon wedge boot, and the No. 6 Jabot ruffle skirt. Please please please can we move on from the heat...can't take it anymore! That's it, I'm switching my closet out this weekend...I want neutrals...lol, I say this as I'm wearing a floral sun dress! ha Let me not get ahead myself. But, shopping all the stores with their Fall merchandise is making me weak in the knees...I want everything! Sincerely lusting for Fall...xo, B

Are these not the shiznit!?! Damn I would love to rock these...but Lord knows I can't walk around in 4.5 inch heels through NYC...who am I kidding! haha But, I am rethinking my lust list...I might have to add wedge booties.

Fall 2010 Lust List

I wanted to zone in on the actual pieces I've been contemplating purchasing, so I created my lust list for Fall. The lust list is now taped to the wall of my cube, so I can fantasize about the items and think if they are necessary additions to my wardrobe. Starting from the top left going clockwise are the J.crew Britten tall flat boots, Marc by MJ cotton twill military coat from net-a-porter, J.crew Dorian wedges, Marc by MJ Saddlery Sophie from shopbop, Marc by MJ Nan metallic cardi from net-a-porter, and the No. 6 Leather buckle boots. There is obviously a bunch of stuff I love and date on and off...but these are key pieces that I want that will be in regular rotation through winter. Oh yeah, and thanks to G for helping me create my cool collage. xo, B

Falling for Isabel

So I'm looking for Fall inspiration, and going back through some of style.com's pics, and Isabel Marant's Fall 2010 collection is a show stopper! All the neutrals and sequins and stipes oh my! The pieces can stand alone and be magnificent, but are uberchic layered up with offsetting textures. Ummm...I think I want sequin leggings! lol Fall can't come fast enough...xo, B

Fall 2010 Picks - Sweaters

It's still blazing hot in NYC...I can't step out of my apartment without breaking a sweat these days, but that doesn't stop me from fantasizing about all these warm cozy Fall pieces that I will need (notice the word need in italics...because obvi that term is being used loosely, lol). I've already made a decision to stop buying anything summer, even though some of the sales going on right now are hard to pass up. But, I'm going to try really really hard to be good...because I have a laundry list of Fall items I'm crushing on. I meant to start the week off with a lust-worthy sweater post...but you know how Mondays get, they drag until you don't realize its the end of the day! So here it goes...sweaters are a staple in my closet, and they're the perfect layer and accent piece for the in between Fall months. These are a few amazing sweaters I've found perusing my fave sites. This first one pictured above is by McQ from net-a-porter...love the structured knit and big collar...great as a light weight jacket for breezy September days.
Next up, is this blinged out men's cardigan by Wayne, which I found on la garconne. It's perfect for those grungy laid back days where you throw on a burnout tee and chucks, and the cardi just rocks it out.

Yummy...this Marc by MJ Orion Blanket sweater from Saks is so cozy, I will for sure want to be wearing this all through to the colder months...especially when I start wearing a lot of black, this will bring the right amount of color to an outfit.

J.Crew is right on with their styles and colors lately. The Rimini sweater is a great update to the traditional cardi, and I can't get enough of this burnt orange/brown color. The asymetrical zip and side ruching is totally flattering to any figure which is always a positive.

Loving this Free People Navajo cardi...the print and colors are so unique, it is a fun addition to any wardrobe. I can see a preppy look with jeans and loafers or spruced up to create a trendy version with leggings and boots.

Lastly is the fun Stonage Cardigan by Plastic Island which I found on shopbop. It looks so soft to the touch but will bring a little glam with it's fur like texture. All these sweaters are definitely show stoppers, but they are unique enough too that they can be worn over most day to night looks. Versatility is the name of the fashionista game...lol, I crack myself up. Loving it...xo, B
